Ben Bowen

General Manager, Broking | National

With two decades of insurance experience both in Australia and the United Kingdom, Ben heads up our commercial broking division nationally.

As well as managing a team of specialist commercial insurance brokers, Ben manages a large portfolio of corporate and commercial clients.

His goal is to find the optimum insurance solutions for businesses ranging from statutory authorities and ASX-listed companies to manufacturers and SMEs.

Understanding his clients’ business and the breadth of insurance products available is a crucial part of his role. He prides himself on his ability to quickly gain an understanding of the full scope of risks and exposures and construct an insurance program that assists his clients to achieve their business goals.

Ben's experience in self-insurance and underwriting and his strong negotiation skills makes him adept at ensuring that policies appropriately protect Whitbread clients.

His keen eye for detail and skill in policy interpretation means he is particularly proficient at finding potential coverage gaps and the 'grey areas' in insurer wordings.

In addition to his role as General Manager, Broking, Ben is also a member of Whitbread's leadership team where he plays a crucial role in setting the agenda for Whitbread's continued growth.

Ben joined Whitbread in 2008 and is a Tier 1 qualified insurance broker.
