House and Contents Claims

If you need to lodge a house and contents insurance claim please follow these steps:

1. You need to first establish whether you have a valid claim or not?  Contact our office via fax/email/phone.

2. Depending on the type of house and contents claim, either a claim form will need to be filled out or you will need to contact the insurer directly.  

3. Water and Storm Damage:  Carry out temporary repairs to make your property safe and to prevent further damage.  After talking with your insurer, water and mud damaged possessions, such as carpets and soft furnishings should be removed from the building for hygiene reasons, and stored in a safe place as they may be required to be inspected as part of the claims process. 

4. To ensure a quick and efficient claims process: If possible, take photos and record details of any damaged items before they are removed. Provide an inventory of all possessions that have been damaged as a result of the loss.
