New CEO for Whitbread Insurance Brokers

It is with great pleasure that Whitbread Insurance Brokers announces the appointment of Angela Whitbread as its new CEO.

Outgoing Managing Director and founder of the company, John Whitbread, says that after 30 years of building and consolidating Whitbread, it is time to step aside to allow the next generation to carry the business forward.

"It has been fantastic to be associated with clients for so long," John Whitbread explained. "Whitbread Insurance Brokers has been built around relationships, many of our customers have become my friends, and we are now looking at second generation business relationships.

"It really has been a privilege. But I know that now is the time to hand over the reins to Angela who, whilst ensuring continuity, will also do things differently."

Angela Whitbread says her father John has been a dynamic and passionate leader, and his involvement will continue as a mentor and consultant.

Angela is looking forward to building on the foundations of the past established by her father.

"Leadership, customer service and technical knowledge are our core values," Angela said.

"Into the future, there will be a strong focus on professional development to ensure that we are leaders in the industry. Our intention over the next few years is to grow both our retail and wholesale businesses along the Eastern seaboard."

Angela has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. In 1997 Angela established Whitbread Financial Services. Five years later this business was sold and Angela moved to Sydney. She returned to Whitbreads in October 2006 to establish the Sydney office.

Both Angela and John Whitbread assure their clients that the succession will be seamless. The new CEO says the overall goal of Whitbread Insurance Brokers is to become one of the leading boutique brokers in Australia.
